Why

Two reply bugs, both older than the outbox work:

  • Scheduled replies vanished. Scheduling a reply reset the composer and marked its draft discarded in the thread state, which hides it for the rest of the session. It only reappeared after a reload, which showed it with its "Scheduled for…" bar.
  • Quoted threads piled up. Scheduling or sending a reply appends the quoted thread to the body, skipping it only when the editor already holds a quote node. A reloaded draft keeps that quote as plain blocks, because the server keeps the macro_quote class but strips the editor's data- markers. Every later schedule or send of that draft appended another copy.

What

  • reply-composer.ts: a successful schedule keeps the composer and its draft, as the new-email composer already does. The reply stays in the thread, locked, with "Scheduled for…" and Cancel.
  • reply-composer.ts: delivery saves and sends skip appending the quoted thread when the composer has detected it in the saved body (form.replyAppended()).
  • Tests: the schedule-ordering test now expects the reply to keep its confirmed schedule (it previously pinned the reset). A new test sends a reloaded reply and checks that the quote is not appended again; it fails without the fix.

Verified in the browser against dev: a scheduled reply stays visible with its bar, and rescheduling a reloaded reply keeps its quote count unchanged.

Scheduling a reply reset the composer and marked its draft discarded in
the thread state, which hides a draft for the rest of the session. The
scheduled reply vanished until a reload, which then showed it with its
"Scheduled for" bar. The reply now keeps its scheduled draft, as the
new-email composer already does.

Scheduling or sending a reply appends the quoted thread to the body,
skipping it only when the editor already holds a quote node. A reloaded
draft keeps that quote as plain blocks, because the server keeps the
quote's class but strips the editor's markers. Every later schedule or
send of that draft appended another copy. The composer already detects
the saved quote on load, so delivery now skips the append when it has.

📝 Summary

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Prevented quoted thread content from being appended twice when sending a reloaded reply draft.
    • Preserved the composer and draft state after successfully scheduling a message.
    • Kept scheduled drafts disabled with their confirmed send time after reconciliation.

Reply delivery now appends quoted-thread content only when it has not already been appended. After successful scheduling, the reply composer remains intact. Tests cover the outgoing body and the confirmed schedule state after reconciliation.

The implementation may work, but the regression test must load the reloaded quote and verify it remains exactly once before this coverage is reliable.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Load the quoted body before testing delivery.

mountReplyComposer initializes the editor with “Ready to send”. This test supplies body_html_sanitized but never loads it into that editor. The assertion can pass when the outgoing email contains no quoted thread at all. Seed the editor with the reloaded body, then assert that “Earlier” appears exactly once in the sent body.
