Superlist Assist is a Codex plugin for capturing tasks, showing a focused daily brief, recapping recent work, and tidying stale tasks through the official Superlist connection.
Ask naturally or invoke $superlist-assist explicitly:
| Intent | Example |
|---|---|
| Set up | $superlist-assist Set up Superlist Assist |
| Capture | $superlist-assist Capture "Book dentist" next Thursday |
| Brief | $superlist-assist Show my daily brief |
| Recap | $superlist-assist Recap last week |
| Tidy | $superlist-assist Tidy stale tasks |
| Configure | $superlist-assist Change my brief time |
tidy replaces the former /review name so it does not collide with Codex's
built-in source-code review command.
On first use, the skill detects that no configuration exists and starts its onboarding flow. No lifecycle hook is required.

The plugin references Superlist's registered app connection. ChatGPT and Codex handle OAuth authentication. User configuration and state live outside the installed plugin cache so reinstalling the plugin does not erase them.
During onboarding, a user may choose a time for:
- a daily brief
- a weekly tidy on their chosen review day
When Codex automation management is available, the skill creates two scheduled thread tasks and records their IDs. If it is unavailable or the user chooses manual mode, every workflow remains available on request. The plugin does not depend on hooks or on Codex being opened at session start.
Add this repository as a Codex marketplace, then install the plugin:
/Applications/ChatGPT.app/Contents/Resources/codex \
plugin marketplace add superlistapp/superlist-assist-codex
/Applications/ChatGPT.app/Contents/Resources/codex \
plugin add superlist-assist@superlist-experimentalThen:
- Open Codex Desktop.
- Authenticate Superlist if prompted.
- Start a fresh task so Codex loads the newly installed skill.
- Ask:
Set up Superlist Assist.
For a private workspace test, the plugin owner can instead open the plugin in Codex Desktop, choose Share, and add colleagues or copy the workspace link.
Use a non-production Superlist workspace where possible.
- Setup triggers onboarding and creates the selected lists.
- The final onboarding question asks: “What are your 3 main goals for next week?”
- Capture creates one task in the correct list without duplicating it when the request is repeated.
- Brief shows today's tasks and can accept a follow-up capture.
- Recap works for a named period such as “last week”.
- Tidy shows stale tasks and confirms before deletion.
- Configuration can pause/resume the brief and change its time or review day.
- Scheduled brief and tidy appear in Codex when scheduling is enabled.
Run the repository tests:
python3 -m unittest discover -s tests -vValidate the skill and plugin with the bundled skill-creator and
plugin-creator validators before publishing an update.
List and task titles are always used verbatim. Never synthesize or store a separate emoji field.
