A reusable AI-agent skill to help University of Edinburgh students preserve account data before access expires. Based on a real backup workflow, with personal information removed. Community-maintained; not affiliated with the University.
Covers Outlook mail, calendars and contacts; MyEd/EUCLID student records; accommodation contracts; immigration correspondence; and verification of local exports and a second copy. It is a guided workflow, not a one-click exporter.
Download or clone this repository, then give your agent this prompt:
Read
skills/edinburgh-account-backup/SKILL.mdand help me back up my Edinburgh account before it expires. Check which services I use and any existing exports. Save my data outside this repository, verify the results, and report anything missing.
Start with SKILL.md. An agent with browser and local file access can assist while you complete sign-in and MFA. You can also use the skill as a manual checklist. To install it in an agent that supports skills, copy the skills/edinburgh-account-backup folder into that agent's documented skill directory.
The workflow distinguishes original documents from transcriptions, mail synchronization from exports, visa documents from share-code acknowledgements, and completed uploads from verified remote copies. Available records and interfaces vary; some items may require help from the University or the document issuer.
Keep personal backups outside the checkout. Never commit emails, student records, tenancy agreements, immigration documents, passwords or session links here. Use synthetic examples and remove personal information from contributions.
