Apache Tomcat 9.0.x is scheduled to reach end of support on 31 March 2027. Shortly before that date, the Apache Tomcat project plans to make releases from a new Tomcat 9.1.x branch available. The differences between Tomcat 9.0.x and 9.1.x are expected to be minimal, primarily involving the removal of the APR/native connectors and the discontinuation of support for Tomcat Native 1.3.x, while support for Tomcat Native 2.0.x continues. For users not relying on those components, migrating from 9.0.x to 9.1.x should be comparable to a normal point-release upgrade.
Since Tomcat 9.1.x is expected to introduce only minimal changes relative to Tomcat 9.0.x, does the Memcached Session Manager team anticipate any compatibility issues with the current MSM release when running on Tomcat 9.1.x in a non-sticky setup? Once Tomcat 9.1.x milestone or release-candidate builds become available, could compatibility testing be performed and the results communicated?
