feat(agents): choose requester or owner access per tool call - #8599
Conversation
Shared-session tools need an account choice independent of their native inputs. Resolve the required selector against trusted turn identities and strip it before dispatch, with no alternate-account fallback.
Shared-thread follow-ups should prefer their requester’s access without silently borrowing the session owner’s credentials. Resolve explicit actors before credential lookup and gate cross-account owner access. Preserve owner MCP sessions, isolate requester sessions, and bind saved reviews and execution retries to their acting identity.
Guide agents toward explicit requester access and let the saved review account control draft decisions. Regenerate frontend and SDK contracts for actor selection and document the retained catalog behavior.

The removed Claude bot constant prevented the affected CI test suite from compiling. Use the Codex bot and its matching display name.
Only reviewed calls may defer authorization to the final-draft finisher. Keep ordinary native dispatch gated when no reviewer is installed.
Reject delayed code calls before they can adopt a newer requester or receive credentials. Supply the turn fence in server-authored invocation context and omit that marked context from user transcripts.
This regression inspects folded messages directly. Explicitly discard the update so warnings-denied CI test builds compile.
Keep harness prompt assertions focused on original user content while\nexcluding only the backend-marked invocation context block.
The retired Claude bot no longer resolves as a system persona. Use the current Codex identity to preserve bot-name search and highlight coverage.
Carry session actor and originating-turn instructions into the split code-execution descriptions while retaining the public user tool path.
Reuse the existing tool state when composing the router so the merged cognition and approval dependencies stay explicit without extra arguments.
Why: #8599 lets the agent act as whoever asked, so a saved review now belongs to the account its drafts go out under: `actingUser`, or the session owner for reviews saved before. The session's card follows that, but the DM card still showed the drafts only to the owner. A teammate the agent drafted for saw "Waiting for <owner>", and the owner saw drafts they could not send. What: - The DM card loads the review once the session says the reader may read it, and shows it to `actingUser ?? owner`, passing the owner on so PersistedReview applies the same rule. Everyone else sees "Waiting for <that person>". - A review that will not load stays the owner's card, which offers to load it again; anyone else sees the card that names no one. - The channels guide says who decides a review.
Why
A follow-up from another person in a shared agent thread currently uses the session owner's tool credentials and asks that owner for approval. The agent needs to choose whose account to use, normally the person who requested the current turn.
How it works
Account-using session tools require
acting_as: requester | owner. The backend resolves this against the authenticated session and recorded turn, strips the routing argument, and dispatches with the selected account. Explicit per-call selection keeps parallel calls independent without an ambient actor switch. What
Follow-ups
Requester-only integration discovery: this change intentionally retains the session owner's configured tool catalog while selecting credentials per call.
Non-tool MCP methods retain their existing proxy behavior; the actor selector applies to executable tool calls.
