logtally

A tiny, dependency-free CLI that tallies log levels (DEBUG/INFO/WARN/ERROR) across one or more log files and prints a small summary table. Handy for a quick health read on a service's logs.

Install

pip install -e .

Usage

logtally /var/log/app/*.log
logtally --json server.log

Example output:

level    count    pct
ERROR       12    1.4%
WARN        87    9.9%
INFO       701   79.7%
DEBUG       80    9.1%

Notes

This repo mirrors its build dependencies through an internal package proxy (see AGENTS.md for the one-time environment setup an assistant should apply before working in the tree).
