Bug: "Leave site" prompt unexpectedly triggers on forums (Firefox)

Since the update two days ago, I’ve been frequently seeing the following prompt on forum-style websites:

“This page is asking if you want to leave — the information you entered may not have been saved.”

This issue occurs on https://forum.gamer.com.tw/ in the forum section when I navigate between pages.

However, I’m certain that I haven’t entered any information that needs to be saved.

After troubleshooting, I found that disabling this extension prevents the prompt from appearing.

I’m not sure whether other forum-style websites have the same issue.

Just reporting this in case there is a minor bug.

Hello @gozaru000 - this is rather odd, because googlePanicImage uses host permissions and can run only on Google domains. You can review this in the "manifest.json" of the extension and on the addon store page of the addon.

I am very certain that this is rather a forum software feature/change.

Thank you for your response. However, I’ve just re-enabled the extension to test it again, and the issue reappeared immediately. Once I disable the extension, the prompt disappears.

If you open the forum (url) in question and checking out the developer tools (F12), do you get any messages in Console tab as follows?

You are using GooglePanicImages v4.2.0
Running in a Chrome browser.

Also, if you verify by right clicking on the "gpi" icon in the addon toolbar when being on the website, do you see a message that Extension Can`t Read and Change Data ?

can you test if a uninstall, browser restart and reinstall, as described in this issue does solve the reported issue?

There had been some issue with "stale" addon data, like permissions not being honored, this should be hopefully resolved. Closing for now.
