Important
At least one additional CI pipeline execution has run since the conclusion below was written and it may no longer be applicable.
Nx Cloud has identified a possible root cause for your failed CI:
We were unable to attribute this failure to the PR's code changes. The top-bar:test task fails because the compiled @analogjs/vite-plugin-angular artifact (index.js) is absent from node_modules, which is a CI environment/build-ordering issue rather than a regression introduced by the diff. Re-running the pipeline after ensuring vite-plugin-angular is built first should resolve this.
No code changes were suggested for this issue.
You can trigger a rerun by pushing an empty commit:
git commit --allow-empty -m "chore: trigger rerun"
git push

…output The previous top-bar:test job could not resolve the compiler package before its build output was available. The same target passes locally with the built package. Retry the unchanged tree once.
Classify workspace TypeScript sources during module resolution instead of rebuilding the Angular program for each newly requested linked module. Retain TypeScript's cache and per-import resolution mode. Cover AOT/JIT build and serve paths, concurrent transforms, incremental edits, external-package boundaries, and removed sources. The AOT fixture creates one program instead of ten. Refs analogjs#2544.

Fix empty output for source-linked pnpm workspace packages in the normal Angular compiler. When TypeScript skips an external-classified source requested by Vite, promote that source to a compilation root and retry the normal Angular emit.
PR Checklist
Closes #2507.
Affected scope
Recommended merge strategy for maintainer [optional]
Commit preservation note [optional]
No commit boundaries need preservation.
What is the new behavior?
A pnpm workspace library exporting a TypeScript barrel now builds with
angular()without requiring a manualincludeglob. TypeScript previously classified the real linked source as external and skipped its emit, so Vite received an empty module and reported missing exports. The retry only applies to an empty result whose source TypeScript identifies as external. Roots are deduplicated and retained for incremental recompilation; tsconfig change/add/unlink events clear the discovered roots, and unlinking a promoted source removes its root and cached output. Emission continues through Angular's existing serialized compilation path and its transformers. Existing node_modules filters, fastCompile, explicit includes, and missing-file fallbacks are unchanged.
Test plan
pnpm nx test vite-plugin-angular— 721 passed, 6 existing skips.pnpm nx build vite-plugin-angular— passed.pnpm run buildnow passes: 245 modules on Angular 21.2.22, TypeScript 5.9.3, and Vite 8.2.2, with noincludeworkaround. The original dependency reproduced the missingDemoDirectiveexport.git diff --check.The regression uses an actual symlinked package with a TypeScript export, checks both its barrel and compiled Angular directive, repeats the barrel transform, verifies an edit to the directive survives incremental recompilation, then unlinks the barrel and checks that the next compilation cannot return stale output. The unlink regression also fails against the implementation before the cleanup fix.
Does this PR introduce a breaking change?
Other information
Targets beta. analogjs/analog#2520 refactors alpha's compiler roots but does not address TypeScript's external-source emit classification. This fix should be adapted to that refactor when ported to alpha; no changes are made to its branch here.
