🤖 Part of the 2.11 clean-up: one PR per module removes APIs deprecated in 2.9 or earlier, or in 2.10.0.

Removed

  • The LevelDB read journal (akka.persistence.query.journal.leveldb.*, 2.6.15), its config section, tests, docs page and the LevelDB dependency of the module. The akka-persistence PR removes the same files together with the write journal, so merge order matters; the second one needs a rebase.
  • Classic EventEnvelope 4-arg constructor and apply without timestamp (2.6.2, "for binary compatibility"). The companion no longer extends AbstractFunction4.

Kept on purpose: EventEnvelope.eventMetadata/getEventMetaData, deprecated in 2.10.1.

Also: migration guide section (shared ## Removed deprecated APIs heading with the other removal PRs; keep one when rebasing); MiMa filters in 2.11.0.backwards.excludes.

Verified: root Test/compile, akka-persistence-query/test (34), akka-persistence-testkit and akka-docs Test/compile, MiMa.

Downstream (compile check against a snapshot with all 2.11 removals): no repo uses the LevelDB read journal or the removed EventEnvelope constructor.

* Remove the LevelDB read journal (scaladsl and javadsl LeveldbReadJournal,
LeveldbReadJournalProvider) with its config and docs. The LevelDB write
journal in akka-persistence is removed separately.
* Remove the EventEnvelope constructor and apply without timestamp, kept
for binary compatibility since 2.6.2, and the Function4 parent of the
EventEnvelope companion that only existed for that apply.
