Just noticed WordPress/wordpress-develop#6910 is on the list and it isn't shipping in 7.0. Only a small part of it will ship, and it's covered by WordPress/wordpress-develop#10766. I can move 6910 into a new 7.1 folder to avoid confusion.

Since version 7.0 has been released, I believe this issue can now be closed.

I noticed that there are still some core PRs related to Gutenberg PRs that remain open, even though the Gutenberg PRs themselves have been merged. I would appreciate it if you could check the status on whether those core P.R.s need to be committed by WordPress 7.1.

It seems ready to commit if we add unit tests to the core PR. @adamsilverstein @westonruter

The core PR has not been updated for three months but is approved. It seems to be commit-able if the branch is updated. RTC is expected to be introduced in 7.1, so we need to commit towards the 7.1 release. @alecgeatches @Mamaduka

This core PR is also related to RTC, so it seems necessary to commit it for the 7.1 release. @dmsnell

We don't have a core ticket yet. Additionally, the merged Gutenberg PRs add files to the lib/compat/wordpress-7.0 directory, so we might need to move them to lib/compat/wordpress-7.1. @ellatrix

I think anything RTC still depends on its status for 7.1. Most of the PHP code was reverted, and pending PRs weren't merged because the feature was pulled from 7.0.

For the client side media backports i have been waiting until we are able to update the Gutenberg SHA in core; that is now ready or nearly ready to proceed to I will work on those soon.

Since collaborative editing will not be included in the 7.1 release, these do not need to be addressed now.

We don't have a core ticket yet. Additionally, the merged Gutenberg PRs add files to the lib/compat/wordpress-7.0 directory, so we might need to move them to lib/compat/wordpress-7.1. @ellatrix

Once the status of this remaining item is clarified, we can close this PR.

    This has been completed.
