Overview

Hides the blog list “Back” link on filtered news pages until TUP CMS upgrades to Core-CMS with PORTAL_BLOG_SHOW_BACK_LINK, while keeping the same vertical space below the list.

Important

I could merge this or I could wait until #557 bumps to Core-CMS v4.41.0, then delete this. Regardless, it is here now, to track changes I made live and provide a hash for CDN.

  • added ad-hoc CSS hide-blog-list-back-link.css (visibility: hidden on .blog-list .blog-back)
  • updated css-ad-hoc-styles.html to load it from jsDelivr

Testing

  1. Open a filtered news list (author, archive, or tag).
  2. Confirm the “Back” link is not visible and spacing below the list is preserved.

Notes

Remove the ad-hoc CSS and its <link> after TUP CMS deploys Core-CMS that includes the #1201 template behavior.

Note

Reverted this PR's edit to css-ad-hoc-styles.html — that snippet is now versioned in Core-CMS-Custom and is being deleted from this repo in #569.

feat(blog): add PORTAL_BLOG_SHOW_BACK_LINK setting (#1200)

## Overview

Hides the blog list “Back” link by default on author, archive, and tag
views, with an opt-in portal setting for sites that want it.

## Related

- better way to do TACC/tup-ui#562

## Changes

- **added** `PORTAL_BLOG_SHOW_BACK_LINK` (default `False`)
- **updated** `post_list.html` to render the back link only when the
setting is true
- **updated** `settings_custom.example.py` with the new setting

## Testing

1. Set `PORTAL_BLOG_SHOW_BACK_LINK = False` (default) and open an
author, archive, or tag news list URL.
2. Confirm the “Back” link is absent.
3. Set `PORTAL_BLOG_SHOW_BACK_LINK = True` and repeat; confirm the link
appears.

fix(blog): preserve space when back link is hidden (#1201)

## Overview

Filtered news list pages lost vertical space below the list after #1200
because the back link was omitted when `PORTAL_BLOG_SHOW_BACK_LINK` is
false. The markup stays in place and is hidden with `visibility: hidden`
so layout matches the previous back link spacing.

## Changes

- **updated** `post_list.html` to always render `.blog-back` on author,
archive, and tag views when the setting is false

## Testing

1. With default `PORTAL_BLOG_SHOW_BACK_LINK`, open a filtered news list
URL.
2. Confirm the “Back” link is not visible and spacing below the list is
preserved.
3. Set `PORTAL_BLOG_SHOW_BACK_LINK = True` and confirm the link is
visible.

feat(tup): migrate ad-hoc assets from tup-ui (#564)

## Overview

Migrates CSS/JS assets (that `tup/html/css-ad-hoc-styles.html` and
`js-ad-hoc-scripts.html` load) from [TACC/tup-ui] to here.

The snippets files were already migrated (#559, #560); this closes the
loop so those snippets' `<link>`/`<script>` tags can point at this
repo's CDN pins instead of tup-ui's.

commit already pinned in the live snippet, TACC/tup-ui@0c0beee5

chore(cms): deleted snippets (moved to diff repo) (#569)

* chore(cms): delete snippets migrated to Core-CMS-Custom

These 9 template copies were reference-only records of djangocms-snippet
content per this repo's "Save Snippets" convention. They now live in
Core-CMS-Custom (TACC/Core-CMS-Custom#559) with no open PR here still
editing them, so the local copies are redundant.

* chore(cms): delete remaining snippets migrated to Core-CMS-Custom

css-ad-hoc-styles.html and js-ad-hoc-scripts.html were held back from the
prior commit because open PRs (#325, #535, #557, #562, #565, #566) still
edited them here. Those PRs are being updated to drop their edits to these
two files in favor of Core-CMS-Custom (TACC/Core-CMS-Custom#560), so the
local copies can go too.

* chore(cms): delete redirect.html and open-external-post.html

Unlike this PR's other deletions, these two were never migrated to
Core-CMS-Custom (they're djangocms-snippet "template"-field templates,
not manually-synced reference copies, per the original migration's
notes). They're deleted here because #535 already deletes them
independently — the external-post-link and redirect behavior they
provide is now handled by Core-CMS itself.
