1. Waybar is not displaying correctly

Solution: Restart Waybar after changing its settings. Press Super + SHIFT + B, or run:

systemctl --user restart waybar.service

2. Hyprland is not launching

Solution: At the SDDM login screen, choose the Hyprland (uwsm) session. Then check that Hyprland is installed:

which Hyprland

If it's not found, install it:

sudo pacman -S hyprland

3. Vulkan is not working with mpv

Solution: The installer doesn't install GPU drivers, so make sure the Vulkan driver for your GPU is installed:

sudo pacman -S vulkan-intel      # Intel
sudo pacman -S vulkan-radeon     # AMD

You can also set gpu-api=auto in ~/.config/mpv/mpv.conf.

4. How do I change Waybar presets and themes?

Use the waymod script:

waymod <preset> <theme>

Presets live in ~/.config/waybar/presets/.

5. How do I apply config changes without logging out?

hyprctl reload

6. Where did the old .conf files (keybinds.conf, general.conf, ...) go?

The Hyprland config is now written in Lua and split into modules inside ~/.config/hypr/: core/, binds/, look/ and rules/, loaded by hyprland.lua. See Customization.

7. I re-ran install.sh and my changes in ~/.config/hypr (or mpv, waybar, rofi) are gone

Those four folders are managed by the installer, so files that aren't in the repo are removed. Your previous version is saved in ~/hyprdots_backup_<date>. See Installation.

8. Which wallpaper daemon does HyprDots use?

awww, which is the new name of swww. Use Super + B for a random wallpaper or Super + SHIFT + W for the picker.
