Features

  • Added CMIP7 C examples for regular grids, pressure levels, scalar height coordinates, basin axes, hybrid sigma levels, curvilinear grids, and fixed fields. (#993)
    • The C examples include shared helper functions, a README, and a run script.
  • Updated the CMIP7 Python, Fortran, and notebook examples to use current CMIP7 tables and real source metadata instead of dummy source_id values. (#993)
    • The Python and Fortran examples now use the CMIP7 cell_measures and long_name tables where needed.

Bugfixes

  • Fixed writing variables with time1 axes and formula terms when the time axis does not have bounds, preventing duplicate or spurious time values in output files. (#989, #991)
  • Fixed a related issue when mixing whole-variable and chunked writes for a variable and its formula terms. (#991)

Changes

  • Dropped Python 3.10 from nightly and wheel-build support after Python 3.10 support was removed from the conda-forge CMOR feedstock. (#990)
    • CMOR 3.15.3 supports Python 3.11, 3.12, 3.13, and 3.14.
  • Updated the CMIP7 tables submodule used by tests and examples. (#993)
