Nodeblue is an independent applied research lab studying how software can read, reason over, and act inside the real operations the physical world runs on. A generation of software learned to measure the world; we study what it takes for a machine to reason about it and act inside it — alongside the people doing the work.
Our research produces working systems. The first, Nexus, already runs on live plant floors.
We are a small group of researchers and engineers with backgrounds at Tesla, Amazon, Applied Materials, and beyond — teams that have shipped production-critical systems where failure isn't an option.

One idea, explored from every angle: most AI never touches the systems a business actually runs on. We study what it takes to change that.
Operational Intelligence — Teaching systems to read a live operation the way an experienced engineer does, then reason over what they see. Running today in Nexus.
Knowledge & Memory — How an organization retains what it learns and makes it usable long after the people who learned it have moved on. In active prototyping as Atlas.
Human & AI Collaboration — Designing the division of labor between human judgment and machine reasoning so each does what it is good at. Built into Nexus today.
Autonomy & Execution — What it takes for a system to cross from understanding a situation to safely acting inside it. The furthest edge, becoming Forge.
Each system takes a piece of the research into a real operating environment.
Nexus · in use
Operational intelligence for industrial environments. Nexus reads a plant's control logic, supervisory systems, and documentation together, and reasons over them to diagnose faults and answer questions in plain language — cited to the exact source. It is the first place our research meets a working floor.
Atlas · in development
A living model of how an operation works. Research into a system that maps how an organization actually runs, so its knowledge stays current instead of decaying in documents.
Forge · in development
From understanding an operation to acting in it. Research into what lets a system cross from analysis to safe action, with the verification and accountability real consequences demand.
Inside the loop, not above it. We study what it takes for a system to read a live operation, reason over it, and act on it safely — then prove it against real systems rather than synthetic demos. Nexus is where that research runs today, on a live floor. The rest of the work is how we get there.
