Summary

  • Poll Maven Central every five seconds, matching the Central publishing plugin's documented minimum, instead of every second.
  • Report the deployment ID immediately after upload and log state transitions with elapsed time using the existing Trace support on stderr. Preserve the deployment-ID-only stdout contract.
  • Include elapsed time and the last observed deployment state in timeout errors.

The ja v0.25.2 publication timed out after 30 minutes without reporting its intermediate state. This corrects the polling mismatch and makes future waits diagnosable; it does not establish why that deployment stalled.

Testing

  • Added the regression test first and confirmed the missing progress output failure.
  • MavenCentralPortalTest: 7 passed, covering five-second request spacing, state transitions, suppression of unchanged states, automatic publication through VALIDATED, manual approval, validation failures, and credentials.
  • Adjacent command, signing, bundle, deployment, and tracing tests: 50 passed.
  • git diff --check passed.
