Claude prints links as long plain URLs because Prism Terminal does not advertise hyperlinks #173
From the Claude-Code-in-Prism-Terminal compatibility research (2026-10-10). The cause is on Prism Terminal's side (or xterm.js's, worked around in PT), not Claude Code's.
What the user sees: Links show as "label (https://long-url)" and wrap over lines.
Fix idea: Set FORCE_HYPERLINK=1 in ptyEnv, but only after the OSC 8 linkHandler fix ships.
Severity: low. Evidence: measured.
Research report (2026-10-10): C:\Users\Admin\Documents\Claude\research\prism-terminal\2026-10-10-claude-code-compat.md, which has the evidence, sources and method.
Owner decision (2026-10-11): keep long links. FORCE_HYPERLINK=1 was tried on #178 and withdrawn: supports-hyperlinks honours it before its isTTY check, so piped/redirected output from every child (including Claude's Bash tool) would carry raw OSC 8 escapes. Claiming to be Windows Terminal was rejected too. Users who want short links can turn on Claude's own hyperlinks setting.
