A clean checkout previously started a ready backend with a dashboard 503, and the wrappers selected the caller cwd or lost CLI failure status. Source launchers now use their own checkout/frozen lock, prepare missing assets with the pinned Bun runtime, and preserve arguments/exit status. Bash is executable; help remains available without frontend preparation.
Partial audit cover INSTALL-09/10/11 and F-025/026/027. Native macOS execution and real account/OAuth/Codex remain unverified. No new runtime setting, dashboard nav, README heading or CHANGELOG edit. Windows PowerShell/cmd and Ubuntu WSL were exercised on foreign cwd and paths with spaces; readonly data and cache directories were isolated. Optional Windows Rust native build/discovery/protocol/cleanup passed.
OpenSpec: archived repair-checkout-launchers, owning deployment-installation spec/context and Python guide. The previously merged Nix compatibility change is archived with its successful CI evidence; no new Nix behavior is introduced here.
Validation: 35 focused tests, full Ruff/format/ty, architecture and strict 68 specs; actual cold frontend build, readiness/HTML/JS/CSS, retained settings/key, wrong/missing tool and CLI errors, Linux SIGTERM shutdown/listener removal. Windows and WSL source snapshots contained no existing venv/assets/dependencies. Full current-head Actions/review gates are required before merge.
