Fairphone6+ can't answer incoming phone call--screen not responsive #928
I have a similar problem: when a fairphone 6+ has the screen saver on (either due to the phone being locked or a timeout) and a call arrives, a button appears on the screen allowing you to accept the call. Pushing that button has no effect. If the phone is not locked and the screen saver is off, the phone behaves normally. I added a fingerprint and using that to get to the home screen doesn't do anything if the phone is waiting to accept or decline a call. The result is that most of the time, I cannot accept an incoming call and have to try to call back. I couldn't find any obvious permission that is missing. I got the phone (in the U.S.) with android installed.
I found the solution to the problem I had, where, with the screen saver on, I couldn't answer incoming calls. With help from Fairphone support, it turns out that what I thought were buttons to push weren't. Instead there is an icon between two (one to dismiss the call and the other to accept the call), and the icon works as a slider: I had to move it to the right to accept the call and to the left to dismiss it. It helped that I created a video showing what I was doing when trying to accept the call, and emailed that to Fairphone support. The person I interacted with was very nice and really helped resolve the issue.
