Capture bounded typed search transitions and target collection evidence #466

Description

@chubes4

Reproduction

Source: https://moenadeghe.com/books. Data Liberation Agent 0.7.3 captures the 24-route site with five Books interaction states for category/selectable-set actions, but no typed input transition for <input type="search" placeholder="Search books…">. On the live rendered page, entering zzzz-no-match changes the collection to “No books match your search.” On the imported WordPress page the same typed input remains a core/html island and typing has no effect. The Journal has a second bare search input, though its source collection currently has no entries, so no positive filter semantics can be established there.

The capture artifact does carry the initial rendered collection and source CSS, but no source-backed relationship between the query field, the filtered items and empty-state result. The producer owns that missing interaction evidence; a consumer must not invent a search predicate from a placeholder.

Acceptance

  • On a neutral site with a visible client-side collection search field, capture bounded before/after input transitions, the typed query, stable field identity, collection target identity, item visibility changes, empty-state copy, viewport, and restoration result. Use at least one matching query and one no-match query, with honest partial/unsupported evidence if stable items cannot be identified or results are server-backed.
  • Preserve the original page after probing and keep page capture fidelity unchanged at 390/768/1440px.
  • A baseline-failing neutral regression and a fresh Books capture prove the resulting typed-search evidence corresponds to the source behavior. Journal should remain explicitly unknown while its source has no entries.
  • Expose a bounded, source-backed contract that Blocks Engine can consume to build an editable WordPress collection filter without shipping the original SPA as a black box.

Related consumer work will be tracked in Blocks Engine. Original source: https://moenadeghe.com/books.

AI assistance

OpenAI GPT-6 Sol via OpenCode compared the live browser transition, kept Data Liberation Agent interaction-state JSON, and imported Gutenberg behavior, and drafted this issue under Chris Huber’s direction.
