Acer Swift SF16-71T (RT712-SDCA + RT1320): headphones detected but no audio, SoundWire default machine driver used #5896

Description

@Thexterax

Hey there,

Very new to this sort of stuff, but I'm hoping to receive some help with the issue here.
I am not sure if I'm reporting the issue to the right person though.

After trying fixes from forums/other websites, I did resort to AI and the below information is based on it.

I added some logs
sound-bug.tar.gz

The 3.5 mm headphone jack does not produce audio on an Acer Swift SF16-71T under Linux Nobara KDE.

  • Internal speakers work correctly.
  • Headphones are detected when plugged in.
  • Headphones sink appears in PipeWire.
  • PipeWire routes audio to the Headphones sink.
  • Headphones sink changes to RUNNING during playback.
  • Audio meters move normally.
  • No audio is heard from the headphones.

Laptop:
Acer Swift SF16-71T

Audio Controller:
Intel Core Ultra HD Audio

Driver:
sof-audio-pci-intel-ptl

Codecs:
RT712-SDCA (headphone/headset codec)

7.2.0-202.nobara.fc44.x86_64

If you need any more information, I'd be happy to provide.

Thank you!
