AutoHotkey was created by Chris Mallett, who ceased work on the project in 2009. Since version 1.0.48.05 in 2009, the overwhelming majority of bug fixes and new features have been my work. I've done all this in my free time, funding myself with unrelated full-time work in the IT support industry.

In late 2026, my job started winding down, putting me in need of a new source of income. My goal is to take my unpaid hobby of the last 18 years and turn it into a full-time job. At first, I will be working part-time and dedicating at least one day each week to AutoHotkey, with the intention of scaling up as funds increase.

All sponsorship funds become my personal income; paying my bills, putting food on the table, keeping me entertained, etc. My hope is that your sponsorship will enable me to spend more time developing AutoHotkey and less time doing unrelated work.

A note about the monthly goal: At the moment (2026-10-10), GitHub is incorrectly calculating progress toward the goal I set. It is showing 1%, but the actual value should be 7% (at this moment, if one-time donations are excluded). 1% appears to be based on the total of "custom" monthly sponsors who are not on any tier.
