I am using the latest release of 64-bit SWAPY from here. However, for a particular software that I am trying to analyse, it gives me the warning in the subject header of this issue. Here is a screenshot:

Most of the components of this software are then greyed out, and I also get the following error message followed by a crash when I try to dig deep into some of the un-greyed trees:

Let me know if this is something that you have come across before, and whether there is a known fix.

This problem may be caused by limited rights or bitness difference.
Could you check SWAPY matches the target app bitness and/or run SWAPY with Admin rights.

@moden-py It is indeed a 32-bit application, but I tried running the 32-bit version of SWAPY and also in elevated mode, but neither of those strategies worked.

I have just realized that the software in question is installed on a network share, and SWAPY is running on a local location. Could this potentially be causing the issue?

Yes, but as you suggested, I elevated privileges for SWAPY to
administrator.

I am seeing the same issue ... I was trying to access the ListView

Can you try the following:

And what is the text shown in the broken item?

It's also interesting to see the log entry by 254 ActionLogger().log('lpNumberOfBytesRead =' + str(lpNumberOfBytesRead) + ' nSize =' + str(nSize)). Just do actionlogger.enable() after from pywinauto import actionlogger and please provide 2-3 latest log lines. Thanks!

I also need to know if it's 32-bit or 64-bit app and the same for Python.
