What I'm trying to do
I run T3 Code on a Linux box and use it from the desktop app on my Mac over Tailscale. When I open a link in the Browser panel for that remote environment, the tab runs on the host and streams to my Mac. That's what you want when an agent needs to drive the page or reach
localhoston the host. For many pages it isn't needed: docs, GitHub, a dashboard, a public preview URL. Streaming makes those pages slow to scroll and type into, even though the Mac could load them directly. What exists today
These help with links that come from chat. Two gaps remain:
What I'd like
localhostmeans this machine, not the host. The new-tab menu could offer it next to the profile picker. The first is small and covers most of the pain. The second is a bigger question about tab ownership, since tabs currently belong to the environment. I'd like maintainer direction on whether a client-local tab fits that model before anyone proposes code.
