Notification plugin switches do not update visually in the "Applications" tab when using Mint-Y and Mint-L theme variants (Xfce) #545

Description

System:
Host: L-2019 Kernel: 6.8.0-124-generic arch: x86_64 bits: 64
Desktop: Xfce v: 4.18.1 Distro: Linux Mint 22.3 Zena

Describe the bug

In Xfce4, when using the Notification Plugin settings, toggling the switches inside the "Applications" tab does not visually update their state immediately. The switch remains in its previous visual state until the window is closed and reopened. However, the settings themselves are applied and changed successfully in the background.

To Reproduce

  1. Set the system theme to any variant of Mint-Y or Mint-L (e.g., Mint-Y, Mint-Y-Dark, Mint-L, Mint-L-Dark, Mint-L-Darker) on Linux Mint Xfce.
  2. Open the Notification Plugin settings.
  3. Go to the "Applications" tab.
  4. Toggle any switch for a specific application.
  5. Notice that the switch position/color does not change visually, even though the configuration is actually changed and saved.

Expected behavior

The switch should change its visual state (on/off) immediately upon clicking.

Additional context

  • This issue only occurs inside the "Applications" tab (see the attached screenshot). Switches in other tabs of the notification plugin settings work and update perfectly.
  • Affected themes: All variants of Mint-Y and Mint-L (including Light, Dark, and Darker).
  • Working themes: The issue does not occur when using standard system themes like Adwaita, Adwaita-dark, or High Contrast (Wysoki Kontrast). On those themes, the switches update instantly.
