Open Obsidian vaults

Vault controls appear on Folder Hub for local folders containing .obsidian directories within the bounded discovery search.

Open a vault

  1. Install Obsidian and make sure it can launch.
  2. Select the containing local folder on Folder Hub.
  3. Choose Open Vault for the vault you want.
  4. If the vault is not registered, close Obsidian when asked and retry.

New vault registration updates Obsidian's global vault registry. Existing vaults open through their registered URI. Windows, macOS and Linux registry locations are supported, including Linux native, Flatpak and Snap installations.

Missing expected vault configuration files produce warnings but do not exclude the vault. If opening fails, check the installation and registry permissions. No remote synchronization is performed by this action.

More help

See Using Logistics for navigation and settings.

To edit a Markdown file without launching Obsidian, open it in Logistics' Markdown reader/editor, or choose Open in Text Editor for source editing. The vault launcher is owned by Logistics; reusable Markdown editing belongs to commonUtils. This integration does not implement Obsidian plugins, a vault graph or vault-wide note indexing.
