Notes

The public /models endpoint includes USD pricing per 1M tokens for cached input, input, and output. It also publishes tool pricing for web search and code interpreter usage, and notes that context windows are subject to the limits available in Codex.

I am opening this issue first because Starveri is a gateway/provider rather than a model author, so I do not want to guess the preferred catalog key, provider naming convention, or context-window representation. If a PR is welcome, I can prepare one using only the public sources above.

@Lwoxs Thanks for the detailed write-up and for opening this before sending a PR.

I want to be upfront: I have significant concerns about whether Starveri is a fit for this catalog, and I'd rather raise them now than after work is done.

From the public /models and /llms.txt, this looks like a gateway reselling OpenAI GPT/Codex access rather than a first-party provider or model author:

1. Provenance / ToS. Every model reports "owned_by": "starveri-chatgpt", and the service is marketed as "1/3 OpenAI-style pricing" and an "OpenRouter alternative for GPT/Codex API credits", sold via prepaid credits. Combined with the injected non-billable global_system_instructions (secret_protection) and token accounting that is "excluded from billable counts," this strongly suggests proxied ChatGPT/Codex access rather than a sanctioned OpenAI reseller agreement. We can't list a provider whose access model may violate OpenAI's terms — that's a non-starter for a source-of-truth catalog. Can you point to an official reseller/partner agreement that authorizes this?

2. Non-canonical model IDs. gpt-5.4, gpt-5.5, gpt-5.3-codex-spark, etc. are Starveri's own names, not OpenAI's canonical model IDs. Our convention (CONTRIBUTING.md → "Wrapper Models") is that a provider hosting another provider's models uses extends: against a canonical base entry. There is no canonical OpenAI base for these invented names, so we'd have no accurate way to represent them.

3. Pricing credibility. Deeply-discounted, prepaid-credit resale pricing (e.g. gpt-5.3-codex at $0.33/1M output) is both implausible for frontier models and inherently unstable — exactly the kind of pricing this catalog avoids.

Given the above, I don't think we should proceed to a PR yet. If you can provide evidence addressing (1) — specifically, official authorization to resell this capacity — and clarify (2), we can revisit. Otherwise we'll likely decline this one. Appreciate the careful sourcing regardless.
