Better Management of Your Own Playlists

Hello, for audiophiles like me who have extensive, self-curated playlists, it would be very helpful if the current “Add to Playlist” feature were updated to allow for adding and removing tracks. When using the feature:

• It should be immediately clear which playlists the track is already in.
• Directly add to one or more playlists
• Directly remove from a playlist

Finamp handles this very well. However, since Jellyfin has so many issues when it comes to music, I’ve switched to Navidrome. In Finamp, I can configure the heart icon so that it doesn’t function as “Add/Remove from Favorites” but instead opens the playlist dialog. The functionality described above is available there. If you open the queue there, you can also scroll up to see tracks that have already been played. In addition, each line has a small heart icon that opens the playlist dialog (if the appropriate setting is enabled).

Perhaps this kind of behavior would be of interest to other users as well.

Thanks for your comments. We have a good discussion going on everything playlists over #340 that might be a better place for you to post. The playlist editor screen is in the process of getting a major refactor #1062 which is likely the first step to break away from the old, much more limited dialog. Playlists in general needed a lot of work from the original fork and we are slowly getting to some basic stuff.
