This directory supplies Enchant personal dictionaries for Arabic, German,
English, Spanish, French, Italian, Polish, Russian, and Turkish. For each
language, LANG.dic is the personal include dictionary and LANG.exc is the
personal exclusion dictionary. These are not Aspell replacement lists; the
latter are the .prepl files documented in the Aspell README.
enchant.ordering selects Aspell as the provider for all languages. The Arabic, German, English, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian, and Turkish dictionary files tracked here are absolute symlinks into separate language repositories. The two Polish files are empty regular files. The absolute targets make this setup machine-specific.
The audited machine has ~/.config/enchant symlinked to this directory. Edits
in the eight external language repositories are therefore live through both
layers of symlinks. The Polish files and provider ordering are owned here and
are live through the directory link.
All tracked links currently resolve, and enchant-lsmod-2 -list-dicts finds
the Aspell dictionaries. After changing a language source, repeat that provider
check and test both an included and an excluded word with an Enchant client.
Dictionary entries can contain personal vocabulary, but they should never be
used to store secrets.
