Build Steps?

Hello,

I want to build EasyTier-Manager (on Windows 11 x64 with ) from the sources but the listed steps:

rustc 1.90.0 (1159e78c4 2025-09-14)
pnpm 10.19.0
npm 11.6.2

When I try the steps, I get an error:

Installation and Usage
Get the code
>> git clone https://github.com/EasyTier/easytier-manager.git

Install dependencies
>> cd easytier-manager

>>> pnpm install

run
>>> pnpm run tauri

ERROR --->   ELIFECYCLE  Command failed with exit code 2.

Pack
1. Compile
>>> pnpm run build:compile
2. Package for each platform
>>> pnpm run tauri:build

1. Ensure that the dependencies have been installed properly, command: pnpm install
2. Develop test run command: pnpm tauri dev or pnpm td
3. Build Package Run Command: pnpm tauri: build

Thanks and I will give it a try.

This is mostly a learning approach for me since I would like to learn how to build the GUI part separately but still for an EasyTier project and just not include the EasyTier core. I'm still trying to figure out how it all comes together.

@xlc520 I just tried to run what you suggested as a norm used and administrator in a Visual Studio Developers Power Shell and it did not work:

Not sure why I am getting permission denied on localhost. Will check to see if Microsoft Defender is causing the problem, next.

Looks like I had to work on the nat to get it to accept:

net stop winnat
netsh int ipv4 set dynamic tcp start=4000 num=16384
netsh int ipv6 set dynamic tcp start=4000 num=16384
net start winnat

Quick Update:

Success !!!!
I just got it to compile and it started up.

Of course, everything is in Chinese and I would like to change it to English, but at least it compiled and that is some success for now.

Also, does the EasyTier Manager use a built-in EasyTier core or is it starting up an EasyTier-core.exe for each instance?

Thank you for providing the solution to the problem you encountered

You can switch between English in the upper right corner of the interface, but there is not a very detailed translation, and there are still some parts that have not been translated

The manager mainly starts an EasyTier-core.exe instance for each instance, and starts an instance for each configuration file, so it is called EasyTier Manager

I am working on some build and bundling after installing WixTool 3.14 and am trying to get a feel for things here, but after I am able to do all of the main basic steps like: pnpm tauri dev, pnpm tauri build, and pnpm tauri bundle to completion then perhaps I can help on modifying some of the language to have full English translations, if you like.

Well, I just had success with the build and bundle completion.

Is there a way to make a portable version that does not use the Wix Tools and puts everything in a portable directory and then zips it up?

Also, I noticed that the msi created is easytier-manager-pro_3.1.3_x64_zh-CN.msi and the bundle setup is easytier-manager-pro_3.1.3_x64-setup.exe

After running pnpm tauri:build, an executable file that can be run directly will be generated. You can package these files into a portable application, and the specific steps can be referred to in the relevant guidelines in the Tauri official documentation.
